چکیده

Laser irradiation with a 9.6 m wavelength resonant with the 0200 level improves the anti-Stokes cooling of CO2 gas. Excitation of the 0200 level increases cooling by producing a larger population of 0001 , despite the higher-energy photon absorption, compared to a 1000 level excitation. Further selection of macroconditions temperature, pressure, Xe diluent atomic fraction, and geometric parameters enhances cooling by reducing parasite gas conduction through slower thermal energy transport and increasing the nonequilibrium population of the excited 0001 level by fast species diffusion and small collisional relaxation. We include reabsorption, and then find the conditions for optimal cooling. © 2009 American Institute of Physics. doi:10.1063/1.3273488

Intrinsic Efficiency and Critical Power Deposition in the e-Beam Sustained Ar:Xe Laser

Experimental investigations on an e-beam sustained near infrared Ar :Xe laser have been carried out to determine the intrinsic efficiency at optimized conditions. A parametric study at different sustainer currents reveals a maximum output energy depending on current density. Up to 8 bar the optimized laser output power per unit volume increases linearly with 1.1 M W / l b a r . Intrinsic effici...

تاثیر مخلوط گاز He-Xe بر بهره تحریک در صفحه نمایش پلاسمایی و مقایسه آن بامخلوط گاز Ne-Xe وNe-Xe-Ar

The image in a plasma display panel is formed when a mixture of several rare gases are activated and discharged .and Xe is excited. Because of limitation as to the increase Xe gas, the luminous efficiency of PDP is lower than that of cathode ray tube (CRT). In this paper we show by numerical simulation that the excitation efficiency in He-Xe mixture is lower than that in a Ne-Xe ...

Xenon ion laser-induced fluorescence using a visible tunable diode laser near 680 nm.

Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) measurements have been performed for the first time in a low temperature (Te approximately 0.6 eV) Xe plasma using a tunable diode laser in the visible range of wavelengths. The transition in Xe II involved the (3P1)5d[3]7/2 metastable state and the excitation wavelength was found to be 680.570+/-0.001 nm (air). LIF measurements of I 2 in a room temperature iodi...

Impact-ionization cooling in laser-induced plasma filaments.

The ionization rates and subsequent electron dynamics for laser-induced plasma channels are measured for the noble gas series He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe at 1.0 atm. The cw fluorescence emission increases superlinearly in the series from He to Xe in agreement with Ammosov-Delone-Krainov tunnel ionization calculations. The electron temperature after laser-induced plasma formation, measured by four-wa...
